Registration Process
- If your organisation has more than one unit then a separate
registration is required for each unit.
- Registration should be made by 1st November 2011 and should
indicate the Class you wish to enter and also which contests you
will be attending which should include at least one in January,
one in February (not including Stoke - i.e. if you enter Stoke
you must also enter one of the other two UK contests in February) and one in
March The contests in Ireland and France cannot be counted as
one of your contests in that month - i.e. if you enter Ireland
and/or France you must
also enter one of the other UK contests in those months.
For all Open Class unit this must also include the first contest on
15
January in Bristol and the contest in Stoke on 25 February.
- The contest in Ireland is being organised by the Irish
Marching Band Association and the Contest in France is being organised
by Muremo and, whilst both are sanctioned by WGUK, neither officially form part of the WGUK season and so cannot be
used for seeding purposes for Championships. As a result of this
WGUK will not make a charge to enter these contests.
- If, after 1st November, any contest is deemed to be under
subscribed then the WGUK Board may decide to remove that
contest from the schedule and if that contest was the only one
you entered in that month you will need to chose another contest
in that month to be eligible to perform at Championships.
- Following 1st November show entry details will be released to
units and you will have until 30th November to confirm or amend
your show entries.
- From 1st December if you withdraw from any contest then there
is a £50 penalty (to be paid before your next contest)
plus a 2 point penalty (20 tenths) which will be deducted from
all scores at subsequent contests including Championships.
- From 1st December if you wish to enter additional shows then
your unit will be placed to perform first in their class at the
additional show/s entered.
Performance Order
- The performance order for the January contests will be
determined by the order in which fully completed and confirmed registrations are
received. To confirm your registration you will be sent
an invoice within 72 hours of registering covering the MPA:UK
and WGUK Member Fees and the Contest Entry Fees and you will
have 7 days from the date you registered to send payment. After 7 days, if no payment has
been received, your registration will be deemed expired and you
will be required to re-register.
- The performance order for the February and March contests will be by random
draw which will take place at the MPA:UK AGM in December 2011.
- The performance order for Open Class Prelims for each unit will be
based on the average
score from the compulsory February Stoke Contest and the highest
score in March.
- The performance order for Cadet Class
Finals, Junior Class Finals and A Class Finals and Open Class
Prelims will be seeded by
taking the average score of each unit from their previous two
contests.
- The performance order for Junior Class Playoffs and A Class
Playoffs (top 3 in each class) will be by a random draw held on
the arena at Championships directly after the Junior Class and
A Class Finals results.
- The performance order for Open Class Finals will be seeded by
taking the unannounced scores from the Open Class Prelims contest.
